Automakers tapped by <i>CAR</i> to redesign Santa's sled

Thanks to CAR and a few masters of vehicular design, Santa is bringing some serious automotive enthusiast cheer. The glossy euro mag asked designers from Ford, Bentley, Nissan and Rolls-Royce to design some sleighs for Santa, and while a few of them look to be from the land of misfit toys -- and one of them looks like Santa's Death Star -- it's a fabulously cool exercise. Nissan's intergalactic sleigh is pulled by a GT-R, Bentley's got a W12-powered sled, Ford's got some popout snowboard action happening, and the Rolls sleigh looks, of course, like Santa should have a snifter of Louis XIV in one delicately gloved hand while an elf named Jeeves tends the Smythson leather reins. Bentley Continental GT

The legendary Bentley puts up a name appropriate for its refined and class-leading performance coupé, the Continental GT. Its muscular lines and understated style integrated today’s technology in this powerful Grand Tourer. With a 12 cylinder engine with twin turbos, all wheel drive, and 552 horsepower, you can easily drag to an intoxicating acceleration. The Bentley Continental GT comes in 16 exterior paint colours with a bespoke exterior paint match service to personal specification, and a choice of 19” or 20” wheels in chrome or painted finish is available. Interior trimming takes as many as 14 hides and Burr Walnut with its intricate natural patterns is the standard wood veneer with six other styles of handcrafted unbleached wood veneer also available.

The Bentley Continental GT gets another boost of Speed in 2008

Is it possible that the engineers and execs at Bentley were feeling a little down-trodden that they have been left out of the 200 club for so long? I mean, come-on. The only people who could deny Bentley entry into the illustrious club is Bentley themselves. Should they not get some sort of honorary acceptance for measuring out a top speed of 198-mph?
With the 2008 Continental GT Speed Bentley will be ending its denial and slipping just inside the door at 203-mph. Finally, an entrant that can bring some Grey Pupon for those dry sandwiches (Yes, I know that it is a Rolls Royce in the commercials. Deal with it.).
