American Icon Hulk Hogan Drives An SRT8, Lays The Hurt Down On The Typical Family Sedan

As old as legends like Sergeant Slaughter and The Nature Boy but still able to squeeze into those barely-there wrestling tights without horrifying fans [seriously, Ric Flair, we love you man, but really, keep the robe on], our hero Hulk Hogan has been in the gossip rags everywhere lately while his tranny wife takes him to the cleaners. So when the Hulk was spotted cruising around in a Hulkamania-yellow Dodge Charger SRT8, we were flat out surprised his estranged wife hadn’t reduced the star to a Geo Prism.

An American legend to the core, celebrity gossip rags have reported that the entire Hogan family has been suited up by Dodge. Hulk’s daughter Brooke reportedly cruises in a Dodge Avenger while his son and amateur career racer, Nick, has logged heavy track time behind the wheel of a Dodge Viper. We really couldn’t care less what his [derogatory term for the female reproductive organ] of an ex-wife drives.

Honda Sedan Attempts to Exact Video Game-Style “Justice”; Our Weekend Hijinks Pale In Comparison

This weekend in San Diego [Motto: "I Have A Kilo Of Cocaine In My Glove Box"], the driver of a silver Honda was arrested for driving like a bat out of hell. According to reports, witnesses became suspicious of the Honda’s activity when they witnessed the vehicle careen off California’s Interstate 805 exit ramp, skid into opposing lanes of traffic, and narrowly avoid sideswiping a police cruiser. After regaining [relative] control and with police now actively in pursuit, the Honda then proceeded to evade the authorities for several blocks before colliding head-on with an unoccupied police car parked on the side of the road.

Next, with the party just getting started, Catalan then sped a few blocks up and intentionally side-swiped a another police unit responding to the scene [the officer was unharmed]. Probably intending to wreak more havoc, the Honda’s Japanese jihad was cut abruptly short [and the driver taken into custody] when it flew balls-to-the-wall into a parked Dodge pick-up truck…the Detroit 3 “Comeback Trifecta” is now two-thirds complete.

Pimp My Ride: Law Enforcement Edition

In a contest sponsored by the publication “Law & Order”, law enforcement vehicles throughout the nation compete for the “best design” award. This year, a police cruiser from Newport News, Virginia took first place; largely because, said judges; “It’s got bling.”

The cruiser is not a standard issue Virginia patrol car (I can personally attest to this fact inasmuch I, personally, have had the luxury of closely observing quite a few of them in my rear view mirror) but actually a recruiting tool used by the Newport News Police Department – thereby accounting for its “flash”.

The cruiser itself is a 2008 Dodge Magnum (“Man Wagon”) outfitted with the factory standard HEMI V8 engine and 425 horsepower – so even without the exterior accoutrement, it’s still a fairly impressive vehicle.  In addition to its performance under the hood, the Magnum also features a rather spacious interior - the ability to seat 5-7 passengers coming in handy for larger-scale dope busts.

Dodge Recalls Over 20,000 Charger and Magnum Police Cars [Cops And Recalls]

Every gearhead's dream of participating in a proper police chase involving Hemi-powered cruisers is a bit more difficult today, as Dodge is pulling 20,283 Chargers and Magnums equipped with both the Police Package and column shifter off the beat. Chrysler is concerned these particular cars could suffer from a bout of "unintended acceleration" courtesy of the old-school shifter. More after the jump.

It turns out the fault lies in the column shifter which "may become disengaged from the steering column mounting bracket and cause an incorrect transmission gearshift position display." The concern is that an unwitting officer could goose it in the wrong gear and wreak a bit of the old ultra-violence. It would have been a great excuse for the gentleman who mowed over that Crown Victoria in his Camry. "I don't know what happened officer, the display said D!"

On the other hand, somebody better warn Jake and Elwood.

Widebody Challengers From Classic Design Concepts Debuting at SEMA [Sema]

Here's some hotness bound for the endless halls of SEMA — a pair of heavily massaged widebody Dodge Challengers by Classic Design Concepts. Outside, the Challengers get shaker hoods, a very snazzy wire mesh grille, and extra wide composite fenders which are particularly slick in the back, presenting a bulged-out version of the famous billboard side stripes. Under those fenders are 10-inch wide wheels in the front and 11.5 inchers out back, stopped by massive Baer brakes. Those big brakes will be put to good use as both Challengers get supercharged, with a Vortech in the black version and the Procharger in the white. Think 560 HP; now that's a proper power-to-weight ratio. Details and more pictures below the fold.

The Group 2 package includes the following all designed and developed by Classic Design Concepts:

-Composite front fenders & "Billboard" graphic flares with restyled wheel arches to accommodate the increased tire width
-10" wide front and 11.5" wide rear three piece wheels with 275 and 315 series Pirelli tires
-Front aerodynamic canards
-stainless wire mesh
-Aluminum hood
-Classic Design Concepts Cold air "shaker" system
-Sequential tail lights

Classic Design Concepts will be bringing 2 Challengers, a Black SRT8 with a Vortech supercharger good for 560hp, Pypes performance exhaust and 15" Baer Brakes with 6 piston calipers at all four corners and KW suspension. The White R/T includes a Procharger Supercharger, Pypes Performance exhaust, Baer 15" rotors and 6 piston calipers at all four corners with GfG forged three piece wheels and KW suspension, interior by Aleah Leather Specialists, paint protection by CGM detroit and Rockford Fosgate subwoofers and Amplifiers.
